Through a labor of dedication and love the Local 1616 Firefighter’s Union of Weymouth, Massachusetts obtained an 11-foot long steel beam from the wreckage of the World Trade Center. Working in close collaboration with the firefighters we developed a 9/11 Memorial Park concept envisioned as a contemplative park space for residents and visitors. More than a monument, the park is designed to be inviting and easily accessible to all and is intended to become a strong part of the fabric of the Town. Featuring the steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center in New York City, the space is meant to be engaged on a daily basis to enable visitors to learn, reflect and attempt to understand the events that occurred on September 11, 2001.

The Local 1616 is currently in discussions with various municipalities on potential locations.
