Community Living Center

Working with DCAMM and the VA the project is a proposal to replace the existing Quigley Memorial Hospital, the long-term care facility currently at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home campus. The new Community Living Center (CLC) will provide a healing environment set in a park with views to nature from every room. The landscape entry balances military formality with sinuous paths, garden plantings and spaces to rest. Secure exterior spaces include the Sunrise Courtyard facing east which supports the event space of the interior Community Center for more formal ceremony while including quiet garden meander paths for tranqulilty and privacy. The Meditiation Garden sits on the roof over the Physical + Occupational Therapy space to the west and provides circular pathways around raised garden landforms for demantia and mental health therapy. Malone Park is redesigned for the community and to support the Physical Therapy programming of the Hospital.
The project is currently in construction.
