The landscape for the residence was sculpted into a series of terraces which allowed for integration of program elements into the steep topography. The site overlooks the bay with fieldstone retaining walls and bluestone terraces establishing a hierarchy and sequencing of space. Synthesis between architecture and landscape is achieved through careful grading and masses of native plantings creating spatial definition and connection to the surrounding landscape. The landscape is further activated by magnificent views to the bay, which were considered in the siting and orientation of the house, pool and spa.
