The Boat House design is a landscape restoration project for a bordering vegetated wetland, adjacent buffer zone transitioning to a more traditional landscape at the main building. Prior to restoration, the yard consisted of lawn and ornamental shrubs planted to the edge of a freshwater pond. The renovation restores 7500SF of wetland with wet meadow plantings and the introduction of native wetland shrubs. The buffer zone is restored with an upland meadow seed mix promoting the ecological goals of the project, minimizing maintenance and enhancing wildlife habitat.
Fieldstone walls and bluestone walkways frame the property along the road while unifying the site to the larger adjacent property.
