Antony Park

Antony, France is the sister city to Lexington, Massachusetts and the two communities have a long history of cultural exchange. Antony has created a small park called le Place du Lexington dedicated to the cities’ relationship. In response, the Lexington Tourism Committee hired Studio 2112 to design ‘Antony Park’ in a small section of historic Tower Park, the site of annual Revolutionary War reenactments. The park design is French-inspired with a modern sensibility, the design intervention minimal, transforming the space through elegant grading, stone pathways, a symmetrical perimeter seatwall and colorful plant material. The goal of the project is to provide a garden to commemorate the relationship with Antony, suitable for hosting outdoor events, and provide a dynamic civic space within the beaucolic setting of Tower Park.
