Conceptual rendering of Sunken Garden

Angelos Law Center

The comprehensive design for the Angelos Law Center needed to achieve many goals: progressive and iconic architecture to represent the ideals of the law school and serve as a gateway to the University‚Äôs urban campus, and model sustainability for future development. In collaboration with Behnisch Architekten the landscape design developed a series of small but diverse landscape spaces within the site, public realm and building interior.  These included streetscape design, urban plazas, a sunken garden with water wall, interior atrium gardens with water features, and 12,000 sf of green roofs on various levels.  Issues of microclimate, views, acoustic and visual screening, stormwater management, accessibility, and site security were integrated successfully into the overall landscape design and sustainability responses.
